The Volvo XC40 is a subcompact luxury SUV produced by Volvo since 2017. Designed by Ian Kettle and Thomas Ingenlath, the XC40 is currently Volvo's smallest SUV offering. An electric version, the XC40 Recharge, was introduced in 2020. A second electric version, featuring a coupe-style sloped back, known as the C40 Recharge, would be introduced the next year.
